Brief Overview of the Program …
IsoActive is a program that was initially designed by the Association Régional Sport Etudiant de Québec/Chaudiere-Appalaches. It was introduced to all the other Regional Associations in Quebec, including the GMAA, through the Fédération Québécois Sport Etudiant in the hope that all students in Quebec would be able to benefit from the program. The program itself is a standardized program designed to give schools a portrait of where they stand in relation to all the other schools in Quebec. The three lifestyle habits that are examined in the program are: physical activity, nutrition – healthy eating and a smoke-free lifestyle. It is free of cost to run the program in the schools. Extra materials can be purchased from the GMAA to go along with the program. Schools are asked to sign up for the program at the beginning of the year, at which time they will receive the Beginner’s Kit. The Beginners Kit includes: The IsoActive Presentation Guide, Final Copies of the appropriate forms and an IsoActive Coroplast Poster. Upon completion of the program, schools will receive: A vinyl “IsoActive Certified” Poster, the Achieved Level Sticker for the Coroplast Poster and the Year Sticker.
